The other day I came across some research about female happiness. It says women used to be happier than men, but now it has all changed. Researchers blame equality between sexes, that makes us suddenly compare our lives, instead of accepting that different outcomes in terms of money and status are due to different work roles. When women are working too, they see that they earn less and still need to do most of the cleaning... = unhappy. But the most interesting part of the study was when I saw that there is a trend towards lack of meaning. Fewer women see a larger meaning in life. They see money as more important, but meaning as less important.
I think this is the key. Not the lack of economic outcomes of work. Not that women lack political power or that they need to do more housework. I would say that people are happy if they see a purpose of life and believe in the power of energies. If you trust that you are cared for by a higher power you will find harmony and peace.
There is a new book out, that tells that believing in God can cure depression. It's all about how praying changes our brains. Gonna buy the book today. Come back with reports after I've read it. :)
Time to go for a walk with my friend Lina. Cheers
